Over the counter Essential Oils are just not pure and even if the oils may have some benefits, the benefits are nowhere near to that of a pure, tested and proven essential oil like dōTerra's. You only understand pure essential oils and their benefits if you have used them and in my 20 years plus using oils and still regularly using and testing other brands, dōTerra is still the Rolls Royce of all essential oils out there.
This month I have selected a variety of essential oils are blended in to blends, packaged in roll on and / dropper bottles and ready to use so that you can experience the benefits of 100% pure essential oils the moment you receive your oils. And to top it up: If you choose two samples, you stand a chance to win R2000! Please see this month's offers below.

Let's take a look at this month's sample blends:

Pet Tummy Soothe

You are going to see Zengest mentioned more than once in this post. The reason: It is the best and no household should ever be without.

But, back to the Tummy Soothe for Pets. Zengest contains oils such as Anise Seed, Peppermint, Ginger Rhizome/Root, Carraway Seed, Corriander Seed, Tarragon Plant, and Fennel Seed and for centuries these herbs have been used to support the digestive system. I also enjoy added a dash of Lavender for our fur children simply because it helps them remain calm and because of Lavender's added analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.

Used in conjunction with doTerra's Deep Blue Muscle rub growing can be painless for your little one.
doTerra's Deep Blue blend is the main ingredient to this blend and consist out of oils such as Wintergreen, Camphor, Peppermint, Ylang Ylang, Helichrysum, Blue Tansy, Blue Chamomile, Osmanthus which work in a synergy to soothe aches and pains in the body. Added to this is Copaiba and Frankincense for their analgesic and sedative properties to further soothe and support little bodies while they are growing.

Carrier Oil: Fractionated Coconut Oil

Roll on to painful areas and massage in. Apply 2-3 times daily or as needed.

Sleep Tight Little One

When I first started with doTerra oils, the first thing parents would ask: "Don't you have anything that will make my baby sleep?" Well, here the blend that has had parent's smiling in relief at bed time.
The key ingredient in this blend is doTerra's Serenity blend and this lovely blend consists out of oils such as Lavender, Cedarwood, Coriander, Ylang Ylang, Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Vanilla Absolute. I also add a little more Vetiver and Lavender as these two oils seem to be very relaxing to little one's as parent's reported that children sleep more peacefully and for longer since I started doing this.

Carrier Oil: Fractionated Coconut Oil
How to use:
Roll on up the back of the spine and under the feet and massage in. Apply at nap time or whenever calm is needed. If the situation persists or gets worse, please consult with your doctor or book a consultation with me.

Pain Buster Blend

Tonight I was showing off my hard work and efforts in compiling my little info sheets, when my husband commented: "Pain Buster" what a weird name?

Well, I didn't name the oil. One of my very "boertjie (farmer) / butch type clients who I never thought would ever use essential oils calls the blend his Pain Buster. I kid you not, I live in a very small town called Harrismith in the Eastern Free State, South Africa and I actually see my clients use their oils around town.
The Pain Buster Blend's main ingredient is also the doTerra Deep Blue Blend, I just add more of this blend as for children so that it is more potent for adult pains. I also like adding the following oils for their anti-inflammatory analgesic properties just for added punch:
 • Frankincense
 • Copaiba
 • Lemongrass
Carrier Oils are Calendula Infused Grape Seed Oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil.
How to use:
Roll on to painful areas and massage in. Apply 2-3 times daily or as needed.

If the situation persists or gets worse, please consult with your doctor or book with me for a consultation.

Circulation Booster

Suffering with winter's hands and feet? Then this blend is a blend to try with it's warming, soothing, anti-inflammatory oils of
 • Cypress
 • Lemongrass
 • Lavender
 • Frankincense
The carrier in this blend is also little more specific and supports circulation and also aids as an anti-inflammatory carrier and is very soothing to the skin: Castor Oil, Calendula infused Grape Seed Oil and Fractionated Coconut Oil

How to use:
Roll on to affected areas and massage in. Apply 2-3 times daily or as needed.

If the situation persists or gets worse, please consult with your doctor or book with me for a consultation.

Stress Buster Blender

Again, one of those names a client gave. One of my friends decided to blend her doTerra Balance and doTerra Adaptiv oils in to a roll on blend. After trying this blend for over a year and testing it on our clients we received the following feedback: Clients reported feeling relaxed but still very well able to focus. Those diagnosed with Bi-Polar say they stay in control of themselves and are able to function very well in stressful and overwhelming situations.
Balance is made from the following oils: Fractionated Coconut Oil, Spruce Leaf, Ho Wood Leaf, Frankincense Resin, Blue Tansy Flower, Blue Chamomile Flower, Osmanthus Flower.
Adaptiv is made from the following oils: Wild Orange, Lavender, Copaiba, Spearmint, Magnolia, Rosemary, Neroli, Sweetgum
Carrier Oil: Fractionated Coconut Oil

How to use:
Roll on to pulse points, at the backs of ears and at the brain stems, massage in. Apply 2-3 times daily or as needed. (Tip: Apply generously to bottoms of the feet before getting dressed in the morning)

If the situation persists or gets worse, please consult with your doctor or book with me for a consultation.

<![CDATA[Lavender Essential Oil & How to use it]]>Sun, 07 May 2023 19:34:19 GMThttp://evelynduperron.com/eoblog/lavender-essential-oil-how-to-use-itLavandula Angustifolia
Lavender Essential Oil is a must have in any home. It is extremely versatile and one of those oils that I highly recommend in homes with children and pets. When used correctly, Lavender Essential Oils have many benefits.

Basic History

Lavender has been used and cherished for centuries for its unmistakable aroma and myriad benefits. In ancient times, the Egyptians and Romans used Lavender for bathing, relaxation, cooking, and as a perfume. Its calming and relaxing qualities, when taken internally, continue to be Lavender’s most notable attributes. Applied topically, Lavender is frequently used to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. Add to bath water or apply to the temples and the back of the neck. Add a few drops of Lavender to pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet to relax and prepare for a restful night’s sleep. Due to Lavender’s versatile properties, it is considered the must-have oil to have on hand at all times.

One of my favourite ways of using Lavender Essential Oils

But one other use that I really enjoy with Lavender is its antihistamine effect, especially with seasonal allergies. I actually mix a drop of Lavender Essential Oil and a drop of Tea Tree Essential Oil in a nasal spray bottle topped with Colloidal Silver. Not only does the blend really help keep my nose clear and sneezes at bay, it is also very soothing.

General Recommended ways to use Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender can be used in one of the following ways:
 • Topically
 • Aromatically
 • Internally

Topical use:

I always recommend that Essential oils be diluted before applying topically. Generally Lavender is considered as gentle neutral essential oil. But, in my experience, some people and especially children and pets can be very sensitive. So, as a rule of thumb I word with a simple rule: "Less is often more".
One of my favourite carrier oils are fractionated coconut oil. This carrier absorbs quickly in to the skin and doesn't leave an oily, fatty residue and makes in ideal carrier for day to day use. What is more, fractionated coconut oil also has a very long shelf life. But, any other carrier oil such as Sweet Almond, Grapeseed, Olive Oil, etc. will do.
To blend:
For little children, frail elderly people and pets I recommend 2-5 drops on 10 ml of carrier oil.
For children older than 12 years and adults I recommend anywhere from 5 - 15 drops in a carrier oil.

Tip: Like I said, less is often more. Always start with less and work your way up until you get the desired result.
Lavender Essential Oil has proven to be highly effective in treating the following conditions:
 • Skin sensitivities / rashes / allergic reactions
 • Skin imperfections
 • Acne
 • Arthritis
 • Cuts and wounds
 • Insect bites
 • Psoriasis
 • Bedsores
 • Blisters and burns
 • Chapped skin / lips
 • Bruises
 • Etc.

Aromatic Use

Ideal for:
 • Sleeping disorders / insomnia
 • Stress
 • Anxiety
 • ADD/ADHD
 • Asthma
 • Allergies
 • Congestion
 • Etc..
Apply a few drops to bed linen (neat - the oil is very volatile and if you are using pure essential oils, then it should not stain your linen)
Add 6-8 drops in a cold water diffuser.
Add a few drops to a spray bottle topped with water. Shake well and spray around the bedroom or the house.
Add a few drops to your bath water before going to bed or if you don't have a bath, just drop a few drops on to your shower floor, when the heat from the hot water, will steam and carry the lavender in to the air for you to inhale.

Internal Use:

Take one or two drops in warm water, tea, or in an empty capsule to help with:
 • Relaxation
 • Insomnia
 • Allergies
 • Etc.
Tip: Add a drop to a lamb roast for added flavour.
The above is all just a short summery of how Lavender Essential Oil can be of benefit to the whole family. Subscribe to my blog to see how we as aromatherapists and essential oil experts recommend essential oils to our clients daily and how I use it around my home.

<![CDATA[DIY Aromatherapy Play Dough]]>Sun, 18 Sep 2022 22:09:13 GMThttp://evelynduperron.com/eoblog/diy-aromatherapy-play-doughI have always loved playing with play dough as a child (I still do). I find it extremely relaxing and therapeutic and adding essential oils just takes playing with dough to whole new level of fun, for young and old.

I suggest you start out with oils such as Serenity, Balance, Lavender and Peppermint.

Aromatherapy Play Dough

Ingredients:

• 2 cups flour
• 2 cups coloured water
• 1 cup salt
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 5 drops of essential oils

Instructions:

 • Combine all ingredients, except for essential oils, in a large saucepan and stir until combined.
 • Once combined, put over medium heat. Using a spatula, continue to stir ingredients together until it forms a ball.
 • Note: Don’t overcook as it will lead to dry play dough.
 • Remove from heat and cool on baking paper.
 • Once cool, add five drops of your favourite essential oil and knead until thoroughly combined.
 • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for months of fun.
